Oregon Marriage License Rules

Applicants use an elected county clerk and follow that office's appointment or online pre-application process. Current Oregon law sets the marriage age at 18. 1. Select an Oregon county clerk and review its pre-application, appointment, identification, and payment instructions.

Find Oregon Divorce Records

Search the free OJD Records and Calendar Search for the family case number, parties, filing court, events, and status. Then request the general judgment or another named document from that circuit court clerk. OJCIN or a courthouse terminal may expose eligible documents, but family-record access rules still apply. A certified divorce decree is normally a certified general judgment of dissolution from the circuit clerk, not an OHA certificate.

A divorce file can include the petition, summons, proof of service, response, temporary orders, parenting plan, support papers, property and debt material, a stipulated or trial judgment, later modifications, and appellate entries. Confidential information forms, account numbers, tax documents, sensitive child reports, medical material, and protected addresses may be restricted or redacted. Free results therefore may show a case without exposing every filing.

Oregon uses no-fault dissolution based on irreconcilable differences. When a marriage occurred elsewhere, the common rule requires at least one spouse to have lived in Oregon for six months, though ORS chapter 107 controls exceptions and venue. Filing does not finish the case. Service, response, settlement or trial, and entry of judgment follow.

Oregon Vital Records Orders

The Oregon Health Authority Center for Health Statistics maintains more than 6.5 million vital records filed since 1903. Its modern holdings do not guarantee that every territorial or early county volume can be ordered through the current portal. Marriage and dissolution certificates are available by mail, drop box, online, phone, or appointment. The state search begins only after payment, and that search fee is nonrefundable.

Recent Oregon vital records are restricted by relationship or legal interest. The applicant states a reason, supplies identification, and may need a notarized authorization or proof of representative status. OHA can also issue a Certified No Record of Marriage for a defined name, place, and period. That result means no qualifying state-filed record was found within the search scope, not that the person never married anywhere.
